Praying With Rosary Beads - How Should it Be Done?

There is a specific way people pray using the rosary beads. If you are a part of the catholic religion, then it's a must know. Starting at the crucifix you say the Apostle's Creed. After this prayer you move along to the first large bead in which you say an Our Father. After the first Our Father you move along to the three small beads, in which you will say three Hail Marries. The three hail marries resemble faith, hope, and charity. After the three Hail Marys you then move onto saying a Glory Be To The Father on the next large bead. After this part is over with, you move on to the praying of the decades. For the decades, each small bead would be a Hail Mary Prayer.

Although counting the beads on the string is a normal, and kind of a customary thing, the prayers of the rosary can be said using many different things. The rosary can be said using any type of counting device, whether it be your fingers, rocks, beads, or anything. The rosary beads are simply there to free your mind. This way you don't have to rely on your mind to remember which prayer your on, you can leave that to the tangible item which is counting for you. Some people now of days are taking it to the extent of using iPod applications or even YouTube or other websites to assist them in the rosary prayers. Kind of ridiculous!

Rosary beads can be made from many of different materials. The beads can be made out of simple inexpensive materials such as wood, plastic, glass or crushed flowers, or can be made from precious materials such as silver rosaries, gold rosaries, pearl, or even diamond rosaries. Then are strung together with twine, thread, chain links or silk. The majority of rosaries now of days are made from plastic, glass, or wood, and are linked together using small, metal links.
